No contract extension for Grant Williams?

Sixth precious man of the Celtics last season, especially in the playoffs, Grant Williams had mentioned in July his desire to extend his contract with the Celtic franchise, in order to stay in Boston.

Three months later, there is still no agreement and according to HoopsHypethe negotiations are even at an impasse, while there are only a few hours left to finalize an extension.

According to our colleagues, the two parties are unable to find the right price for Grant Williams. The player and his camp would like a contract around 14-15 million dollars per year. Too much for Boston leaders.

If no contract extension is signed by Monday evening, the player will be free in the summer of 2023, but still protected. That is to say that the Celtics will have the last word and can align themselves with any outside offer and thus retain the former University of Tennessee.
