No “buyout” for Dennis Schröder in Houston? | NBA

Even if Stephen Silas explained that he was counting on his “leadership” for the end of the Rockets season, was that also the state of mind of Dennis Schröder, who had moved from a Boston team that still hopes to play trouble? -parties in the playoffs, to a Houston team that is just going to put its young people to work?

Transferred with Enes Freedom and Bruno Fernando so that the Celtics recover Daniel Theis, the German point guard should not however negotiate “buyout”assures Marc Stein.

At 28, Dennis Schröder should therefore finish the season well in Texas, far from the quest for the title. Perhaps the opportunity for him to show himself before the next “free agency”, while his rating has dropped enormously. A year and a half ago, he refused a four-year, $84 million contract extension from the Lakers. Last year, he only got a one-year, $5.9 million deal with the Celtics.

Buyout : amicable breach of contract. The player is released from his contract with severance pay which can reach the totality of the rest of his contract. The player then becomes a free agent, and can sign elsewhere.
