No additional envelope for the Knicks to replace Mitchell Robinson

Good and bad news for Knicks.

The bad news is that their request for a “Disabled Player Exception” (7.8 million dollars) to compensate for the lack of Mitchell Robinson was refused by the NBA, indicates ESPN. The good news is precisely linked to this refusal, pronounced because the pivot could finally play again this season, again according to ESPN.

Injured in the left ankle and subsequently operated on, “Mitch” was initially announced to be out for the rest of the season. A month later, there is optimism. new Yorksince the interior with 6.2 points, 10.3 rebounds (including 5.3 offensive), 1.5 interceptions and 1.3 blocks on average could return to the floor at the end of the regular season…

Vagueness reigns around his health

As NBA doctors are unable to determine whether Mitchell Robinson will be absent until mid-June as expected, the Knicks will not be able to replace him by recruiting another player with a special envelope.

The situation is unclear but, knowing that Tom Thibodeau's men have been playing since the arrival of OG Anunoby, a possible return of their starting pivot would certainly make them more threatening in the playoffs…

Until he heals, Isaiah Hartenstein, Jericho Sims and Precious Achiuwa, with Julius Randle at times, occupy New York's No. 5 position.
