Nikola Jokic spoils the Guerschon Yabusele career record

While rumors evoke an interest in the Nuggets for Guerschon Yabusele, the Frenchman has offered himself a new personal record with 28 points against his possible future partners. But it is insufficient to prolong the series of victories of the Sixers, which bowed 137-134 against the NBA 2023 champions.

Always an orphan of his two All-Stars, Joel Embiid and Paul George, Tyrese Maxey chose to print a hellish rhythm at the meeting. But the leader of the Sixers confuses speed and precipitation, and he loses three balloons, which the nuggets convert to the stride. At the maneuver, Nikola Jokic detects the defense with his vision of the game, and the Nuggets escape (14-6). It is quality basketball, with sentence defenses, and Maxey resumed very quickly to find Yabusele 3-point or enroll all the defense on a feint (27-26). It is Julian Strawther who calms Maxey to restore the advantage to the Nuggets (38-36).

While the stars rest, Kelly Oubre Jr. and Kyle Lowry are responsible for responding to nugget replacements (51-47). The defenses are still late, and it benefits Guerschon Yabusele, unleashed 3-point. And when he misses his first distant shot, he catches up immediately to intercept a long pass from Jokic, and send OUBRE JR. to look for the basket with the fault (62-61). After a silly error from Maxey, the Nuggets take the opportunity to join the locker room with four points ahead (73-69). At the break, Yabusele is already at 18 points!

Untenable yabusele

Upon returning from the locker room, the Nuggets are simply perfect with a 6 out of 6 on shots! Their first failed shot? A failed Alley-oop from Aaron Gordon … Sitting side, a player explodes the screen, and this is our national Yabusele. French is everywhere, whether it is to take the bottom line or crush an alley-oop (93-90).

It is already at 28 points, and this moment of the match, he is simply the best scorer of the meeting! His energy detects on the Sixers, which snatch offensive rebound on offensive rebound. Before the 4th quarter, the Nuggets are still leading: 103-100.

Author of a buzzer basket, Ricky Council IV is unleashed, and he steals two balloons to restore the advantage to the Sixers (107-105). Michael Porter Jr. replied, and Jokic again imposes his pace. But Eric Gordon takes over with two awarded shots, and four minutes from the end, the Sixers are still in ambush (120-117).

Like the meeting, the end of the match is superb and Maxey scored eight points in a row to restore the advantage to Philly (125-122). His duel with Jokic reaches heights, and the two exchange baskets on a basket. And when Maxey equalizes, Jokic answers him with a large 3-point (133-130). Well served by Jamal Murray, the Serb pushes the nail with a jerky floater of which he has the secret. This time, Philly breaks, and bowed 137-134.

What to remember

– Maxey does their best. Tyrese Maxey kept his training at arm's length in 2025, and he signed a 13th match in a row at 28 points and more, and a 4th in a row at 30 points and more. With 42 points and 9 assists, difficult to blame him for anything.

– Westbrook injured. After contact with Ricky Council IV in the 4th quarter, Russell Westbrook was held back of the thigh. He joined the locker room, and we didn't see him again.
