Nick Nurse is still waiting for Nicolas Batum

The Sixers’ recruits are trickling into the squad, and Nick Nurse knows he won’t be able to count on everyone for Saturday’s game against Phoenix. It’s at 1:00 p.m. local time (6:00 p.m. in France), and the Philadelphia coach (4 wins – 1 loss) recognizes that his current rotation suits him perfectly, and that it is complicated to integrate new players.

“The current rotation doesn’t bother me. I don’t want to disrupt the rhythm.” explains Nurse. “But we’ll see.” I need to think about it and discuss it a little with the staff. We must integrate them. It’s not like the schedule is going to get lighter, and it’s not like there’s a big break coming or anything like that. So you have to integrate them at one point or another. »

As it stands, only Robert Covington and KJ Martin, who played a minute against the Raptors, should join the rotation and get playing time. Nurse explained that Marcus Morris was recovering from a groin injury, and that he wasn’t 100%. As for Nicolas Batumhe must settle many personal details since his family will remain in Los Angeles, and Nurse does not know when the Frenchman will be available.

Kelly Oubre Jr. eager to play with the ‘French Knight’

If Nurse remains very evasive about his recruits, on the other hand, Kelly Oubre Jr. is very enthusiastic. Very good since the start of the season, and even starting against the Raptors, the former Hornets winger believes a lot in the reinforcements coming from the Clippers.

” I am very happy ! I played with Markieff (Morris) when I was with the Wizards, and I was pretty close to his family. Marcus is a friend, and I’m happy to go to the battlefield with him. He makes things exciting because he has a 90s style of play. With him, RoCo, Nic… Nic isn’t there yet, but he’s a veteran. What is his nickname, the French knight? We don’t give this name to just anyone. I also want KJ to put in some dunks. And things will come together, and things will turn out. »
