Nick Nurse in the dark for Tobias Harris

The Sixers suffered a bit over the past week, with three losses in four games. It must be said that the situation became complicated for Nick Nurse at the end of the week since the Philly coach had to deal without Robert Covington, De'Anthony Melton, Tobias Harris and especially Joel Embiidrested to spare his knee, during the lost match on Saturday in Utah.

The case of Tobias Harris seemed to worry the coach following his exit from the field against the Knicks in the fourth quarter, particularly after the positive return of the examinations carried out, which does not prevent his winger from still feeling pain, visibly caused by unusual ankle movement.

“He kind of jammed his ankle.”, he declared on Friday after the match, showing confidence in his ability to quickly return to the field.

Some rest

Except that the situation quickly changed and the winger was ultimately unable to suit up on Saturday against the Jazz and the pain persisted, plunging Nick Nurse into uncertainty over his player's return timetable.

“On the positive side, we can say that it's not really like a sprain, and that there is no damage. They already examined him and there were no lesions. It was more like a blockage. This will probably end in some sort of bruise. I spoke to him this morning and he told me there was no swelling, but it was painful”, he clarified. “My level of concern always depends on what Simon Rice (medical staff referent) thinks. Simon thought he had a reasonable chance of playing today. He didn't get to play, so that's where my concern level is. When he says 'it's going to take a while', that's when we know we have a problem. But he said he had a chance to play and it was going to react as expected.”

Fortunately for him, the schedule should help the injured recover on the Philadelphia side since the Sixers will not play again until Wednesday evening, against Atlanta.
