In the next two years, the WNBA will grow with several new franchises, notably in 2026 with Toronto and Portland. But it will start next summer, in 2025, with the arrival of the Golden State Valkyries in the women's league.
After finding a name for this team, it was necessary to find a coach. It's done. The franchise announced the signing of Natalie Nakaseassistant with the Las Vegas Aces for three years.
“Being named coach of the Golden State Valkyries is a dream come true”, she declares. “I want to thank Joe Lacob, Ohemaa Nyanin and the leadership of Golden State for having confidence in me. We want to build a culture of victory, by working hard and being competitive. »
The new coach already warns that the objective will be to “bring back a title to the fans and the franchise”. She knows this path well, having won the WNBA trophy twice with the Aces, in 2022 and 2023.
We also saw Natalie Nakase (44 years old) in the NBA, with the Clippers, but also in the G-League team, the Agua Caliente Clippers, after debuts in Germany and Japan.
