Nets – Blazers: Anfernee Simons wins his duel with Mikal Bridges

Epic match between the Nets and the Blazers. While Cam Thomas quickly takes an elbow from his teammate Day'Ron Sharpe and has to leave his teammates (before returning later), it is Brooklyn who takes the advantage thanks to Mikal Bridges who has regained confidence in his shoot.

The Nets will race in the lead until the fourth quarter, putting on a show including this alley-oop with Royce O'Neale's board for Dennis Smith Jr, but Portland does not let itself be left behind.

The gap will never exceed ten points, despite a thunderous dunk from DSJ, and the visitors take advantage of a bad sequence from the locals to take the lead with just over six minutes remaining in the match…

Brooklyn's offensive game, already not brilliant, is completely disintegrating and Mikal Bridges must bring all his talent to bear to allow the Nets not to explode against the baskets of Shaedon Sharpe, Malcolm Brogdon, Duop Reath and especially Anfernee Simons. The latter delivered a superb gunslinger duel with his counterpart from the “Big Apple” but it was Shaedon Sharpe who thought he had given Portland the decisive advantage five seconds from the end.

Except that Mikal Bridges, again, equalizes, and the two teams go into overtime!

The leader of the Nets thinks to tip the match into overtime but this time it is Malcolm Brogdon who comes out of his box to score the important baskets, and allow the Blazers to finally win (134-127).

WHAT YOU MUST REMEMBER

– The exchange of baskets between Mikal Bridges and Anfernee Simons. When two rough diamonds trust each other, sparks can fly. Mikal Bridges (42 points) and Anfernee Simons (38 points, 11 assists) did so, especially at the end of the fourth quarter. A beautiful duel ultimately won by the Blazer.

– The Firecrackers of Dennis Smith Jr. In a double-double with 10 points and 10 assists, DSJ mainly marked the match with his dunks, including this monstrous poster on the nevertheless valiant Duop Reath!

– Nets on a bad dynamic in Paris. Brooklyn failed to follow up after its victory against the Thunder. Overall, Jacque Vaughn's team is in big trouble, having lost six of its last seven matches, and even 11 of its last 14 outings. Next stop: Paris, for the match against the Cavaliers.
