Nemanja Bjelica forced to retire?

Conflicting information from Serbia since media talk about retirement of Nemanja Bjelica, who had just returned to Red Star Belgrade, where it all began for him. NBA champion with the Warriors in 2022, the Serbian would not be able to play, and on Monday evening, a media outlet mentioned early retirement at 35 years old.

On the side of Sports Club, we qualify this information. If it is announced that Bjelica will ultimately not play for Red Star, and that his contract is suspended, this does not mean that he is drawing a line under the rest of his career. After playing only seven Euroleague matches last season with Fenerbahce at only 2.7 points per game, the former Wolves and Heat power forward still has not recovered from this calf injury that he has been carrying for more than a year. An injury which had already prevented him from participating in the World Cup.

Former Euroleague MVP, Bjelica arrived in the NBA in 2015, where he first played for three years with the Wolves, before shining with the Kings for two and a half seasons. Transferred to the Heat, it was ultimately to the Warriors that he bounced back to win the title 16 months ago.
