Negotiations between Jaylen Brown and the Celtics on hold

The soap opera of the summer still continues a little in Boston. While Brad Stevens ensures that negotiations are progressing well on the extension of Jaylen Brownit will not be announced immediately.

The Boston Globe explains that the full-back/winger left the United States for an organized event by the players union and that the talks are on hold…

Nothing to worry about for Boston fans, even if the negotiations take a little longer than expected. It’s because Jayson Tatum’s friend wants a “super max extension” of $295 million over five years, with maximum leverage, including a “player option” for the final season.

Obviously, it is this point that still blocks, the Celtics not really wanting to let go of this “player option”, which would allow the double All-Star to choose whether he wants to become a “free agent” in the summer of 2028.

Nevertheless, everyone expects Jaylen Brown to extend in Massachusetts once negotiations resume. For an official announcement at the end of July?
