The unexpected arrival of JaVale McGee in Sacramento pushed interiors Nerlens Noel and Neemias Queta towards the exit. The latter will not have waited long to commit to a new team since Shams Charania revealed yesterday that the Portuguese interior had signed a “two-way contract” with the Celtics.
It’s a small step backwards for the career of Neemias Queta, drafted in 2021, but who has only played 20 NBA games since. On the other hand, he arrives in a prestigious franchise and will have the opportunity to show his value in the G-League. It will then be up to him to take his chance with the first team and convince Joe Mazzulla.
Alongside him, point guard Jay Scrubb and guard JD Davison are the other two players signed by Boston on two-way contracts for 2023/24.
Free agent 7-footer Neemias Queta is finalizing a two-way NBA contract with the Boston Celtics, sources tell @TheAthletic @Stadium. Queta spent the past two seasons with the Kings, who drafted him in the second round in 2021.
