NCAA | Peja Stojakovic’s son joins Stanford

I chose Stanford because in my opinion, of the four universities I considered, it is not only the best decision in terms of basketball, but also academically » soberly declared Andrej Stojakovicto justify his decision to join the Stanford Cardinals, which he will not join until next year since he belongs to the 2023 promotion in the NCAA.

It’s a somewhat surprising choice on the sporting level, since the son of Peja Stojakovic had announced a few weeks ago that he was also thinking of Texas, UCLA and Oregon before his final decision. Three programs more competitive and publicized than Stanford on a purely basketball level.

But each path is unique, and the young 18-year-old winger, born in Greece in Thessaloniki and a high school student for three years in Sacramento, where his father spent the best years of his career, therefore opted above all for a solid academic career, within the very famous college of Stanford, in his adoptive California.

Already culminating at 1m98, Andrej Stojakovic, ranked 17th among the best players in his promotion, inherited his father’s shot, which he masters both in “catch-and-shoot” and in dribbling. Like all young outsiders of his age, however, he must thicken physically to withstand the shock at the university level.
