NCAA | Jerry Stackhouse returns to Vanderbilt

Former assistant to the Raptors (2015-2016) then to the Grizzlies (2018-2019), head coach of the Raptors G-League team (2016-2018), with which he was champion and elected coach of the year in 2017, Jerry Stackhouse seems to be enjoying Vanderbilt, NCAA, where he has been playing as head coach since 2019.

The former scorer, among the biggest triggers of the early 2000s, had signed a six-year contract there, and his lease has just been renewed, for an unspecified period.

Jerry Stackhouse has already managed to train three NBA players (Aaron Nesmith, Saben Lee, Scotty Pippen Jr) and ended last season with a positive record for the first time in his term (19 wins – 17 losses).

For Candice Lee, director of athletics at the university, Jerry Stackhouse’s program is going in the right direction.

“Engaging and investing in him as a leader is an important part of building the title-calibrated program we want at Vanderbilt. I appreciate the contributions that Jerry and his program have made to our community and our campus, and I am excited about our future,” she added.

For Jerry Stackhouse, this mark of confidence will comfort him in order to work over the long term.
