NCAA | Eric Musselman replaces Andy Enfield as head of USC

Things are moving at USC after the disappointing season for the Trojans (15 wins – 18 losses), who did not reach “March Madness”. While coach Andy Enfield left the coaching position to take that of SMU, the “Southern Methodist University”, the university did not take long to find his replacement since Eric Musselman arrived.

A nice CV, who led the Arizona Razorbacks for five seasons, even if he also missed qualifying for “March Madness” this year.

The 59-year-old coach has previously traveled quite a bit, going from the D-League to the NBA benches but also to the international benches since he managed the Dominican Republic and Venezuela.

The unclear future of Isaiah Collier and Bronny James

In the NBA, he was notably the coach of the Warriors between 2002 and 2004 (75 victories – 89 defeats) and, within a very unstable club at the time, he had not done a bad job, relying on Gilbert Arenas, Antawn Jamison or Jason Richardson. However, the appointment of Chris Mullin as GM pushed him towards the exit after two seasons. He is thus renowned for his offensive approach, and above all his ability to adapt to the strengths of his players.

“Eric demonstrates heart, courage, resilience and everything that being a Trojan means”, explains Jennifer Cohendirector of the sports part of the university of USC. “He inspires cohesion and will help build and grow the program’s bonds within the Trojans community.” As we rejoin the Big Ten (conference) and begin a new chapter for USC men's basketball, there is no better choice than Eric Musselman to launch our program to new heights.”

It remains to be seen which team he will do it with, as Boogie Ellis is done with his college career, Isaiah Collier could enter the Draft, Kobe Johnson has decided to join rival UCLA and Bronny James is not also not sure to stay, LeBron's son considering different options…
