Already author of a high quality freshman season with 26 points, 7 assists and 6 rebounds on average with Iowa, Caitlin Clark is driving the point home, and not just a little, for her second campaign.
After her triple-double of 27 points, 11 rebounds and 11 assists to explode Wisconsin last Friday, she simply had the best game of her young career last night against Michigan, with a record 46 points, including 25 in the only last quarter, plus 10 assists and 4 rebounds.
Triple-double machine this season (with the fifth against Wisconsin), Caitlin Clark was untenable on the floor of the Wolverines with 14/29 on shots, including 6/13 from 3-pointers and 12/14 on throws. Unfortunately, despite all her efforts and 40 minutes of play on the boards, she could not prevent the defeat of her Iowa team (98-90).
Like what Sabrina Ionescu did with the Ducks not long ago, she is putting the NCAA defenses on fire with her game very wide, but also very complete at mid-range. Last night, she did not hesitate to trigger the 3-point logo, with a second outing at 40 points or more in her last three games…
In another dimension currently, Caitlin Clark is running at 30 points, 8 rebounds and 10 assists in her last 10 appearances. Completely insane!
