NBA strips Bam Adebayo of franchise record

No one in Miami history had ever finished a game with a triple-double of at least 20 points and 20 rebounds. Nobody, until Monday evening, when Bam Adebayo punctuated the Heat’s remarkable victory against the Lakers (108-107) with an exceptional triple-double, with 22 points, 20 rebounds, and 10 assists.

“Add this to my CV”, he said at the end of the meeting. His historic record ultimately did not last long. The NBA announced yesterday took away a rebound after rewatching the match to check each statistic, as is the case with every match in the league.

We do not know exactly what action this is, but the fact remains that the stat line of the Florida interior has therefore been revised to 22 points, 19 rebounds and 10 assists, and that this mark in the Heat history established Monday evening has in fact been erased from the shelves.

Only one other player in Miami history has had a triple-double with more than 20 points and at least 19 rebounds. This is Lamar Odom, in March 2004, with 30 points, 19 rebounds and 11 assists against Sacramento.
