It's official : Draymond Green was allowed to return to the league after a 12-game suspension following a punch to Jusuf Nurkic, another misconduct that resulted in his suspension until further notice. It should take him a week of intensive training before he can claim to be able to return to the game.
The NBA thus indicated that his suspension and his exclusion from the group ended this Sunday, because the Warriors veteran had taken the necessary steps to return to the field behaviorally.
“Draymond Green has taken steps that have demonstrated his commitment to living up to the standards expected of NBA players”, the league wrote in a press release. “He has met with an advisor and spoken several times with representatives of the NBA, Warriors and players' union and these discussions will continue throughout the season.”
The NBA had in fact imposed a condition that Draymond Green follow counseling sessions, and his investment was judged to be in line with a return to the NBA.
In total, Draymond Green will have lost a little less than two million dollars in salary withholding because of this suspension which lasted 12 games, during which Golden State posted a record of 7v-5d.
