NBA denies Mavericks claim

The series continues. Since 2008, each time a claim is filed to replay a game, the NBA judges that it is not necessary to come to this point. Last example date: the request of the Mavericks from March 22, finally rejected today by league officials.

That evening, we remember that dallas lost two points to the Warriors, but something unusual happened in the game. More precisely an arbitration misunderstanding, at the end of the third quarter, which saw Kevon Looney dunk after a throw-in, while all the Texan players were… on the other side of the floor!

An unprecedented sequence, which caused a lot of talk (notably Mark Cuban on Twitter or Jason Kidd at a press conference…), but the NBA judged that the Mavericks had enough time behind (14 minutes) to make up for this error and succeed in prevail. Also recalling that Luka Doncic’s teammates led twice in the last four minutes of the game.

File closed, therefore, while hindsight makes us say that the Mavs would have needed this success against Golden State, or a replayed meeting altogether, since they rank 11th in the West, three days from the end of the season…
