NBA 2K25: MyTeam mode is full of new features

2K Sports saved the best for last by revealing this week the new features from of its “MyTeam” mode for “New-Gen” consoles in NBA 2K25. The game mode is intended to be both simplified, with an experience level to select at the beginning and tutorials to accompany novices. It is also filled with new features and feedback requested by the community.

Launched into the adventure after having chosen your “Starter Kit” pack from your favorite franchise, including the choice between two current superstar cards and a card of an NBA legend (which will be available for longer than previously), you will be able to make your debut on the brand new “Triple Threat” park.

Flashback in NBA 2K16

This one is actually a remaster of the complex present on “Rivet City” of the MyPark Championship of NBA 2K16. Also accessible from MyCity, the surface composed of nine courts dressed with iron nets, serves as a new host location for the online multiplayer Triple Threat or “Co-op” games.

Two new modes will also enrich the MyTeam experience. The “Breakout” mode allows you to discover MyTeam solo, in quick 3 vs. 3 Triple Threat matches, 5 vs. 5 clutch, or a quick game, with rewards to unlock. The “Duel” mode is a new confrontation mode that follows in the footsteps of the “Unlimited” mode, in face-to-face multiplayer.

Matches are played with a full 13-card roster at 4 minutes per quarter. The core of this mode is a progression system across 15 divisions, where the main objective is to win in order to be promoted. Once players have reached a certain number of wins in the Showdown each week, they will qualify for another mode, “The King of the Court,” a weekly tournament that will take place every Saturday from 7pm to 11pm starting September 14.

The “challenges”, “freestyle”, “scrimmage” and “practice plays” sessions are still present on the MyTeam menu, alongside all the tutorials.

The return of auction cards

Finally, NBA 2K25 will record the return of the auction room, an insistent request from the community that has therefore been granted by the developers on this 2K25 edition. This will be an opportunity for players to sell (at the right price) or buy cards more easily and above all to be able to access a specifically sought-after card. The menu will be better thought out and easier to access.

To counterbalance the seasons, NBA 2K will also introduce a REP system in MyTeam that will expand throughout the year without resetting every six weeks at the end of each season. The system will also generate rewards.
