Nate McMillan refused to join Jason Kidd’s Dallas coaching staff

It has now been more than twenty years since Nate McMillan is constantly present on an NBA bench, as a coach or assistant, but, at the start of the next school year, he will remain far from the floors.

As indicated by the Bleacher Reportthe soon-to-be 59-year-old technician wants to take a year off to spend time with his family.

In this sense, the former coach of the Sonics, the Blazers, the Pacers and then the Hawks would have even refused the advances of the Mavericks, wishing to see him integrate their “coaching staff” to support Jason Kidd.

With 760 wins in 1,428 games (or 53.2% success), Nate McMillan remains for the time being the 18th most successful coach in NBA history in the regular season. His last experience on a bench is also very fresh since he was fired by Atlanta in February, against a backdrop of disappointing results and disagreement with Trae Young.
