ESPN made its first scorewith 100 journalists, on the race for the MVP for this 2024/25 season. And three players are in the lead: Nikola Jokic, Shai Gilgeous-Alexander And Giannis Antetokounmpo.
With 57 “first place” for 827 points in total, the pivot of the Nuggets is quite comfortably in the lead, but the leader of the Thunder (24 “first place”, 678 points) and that of the Bucks (19 “first place”, 643 points ) are still in the race, the three men having taken off compared to Jayson Tatum Or Luka Doncic.
Proof, however, that nothing is set in stone, Milwaukee's victory in the NBA Cup, and the great performance of the “Greek Freak” in the final, have considerably changed the votes of the journalists interviewed.
While they had transmitted their choices before the final of the mid-season tournament, the voters were contacted again at the end of it, and 29 of them decided to change their ballot, Giannis Antetokounmpo doubling his number of “first places” following his NBA Cup MVP trophy!
Note that 14 players received votes, including Victor Wembyanamacited once, in fifth place.
