Moses Moody continues to seduce with the Warriors

In the shadow of Jonathan Kuminga, Moses Moody was also expected to explode in his third year, following his promising preseason (13.2 points and 3.6 rebounds on average, 55% shooting, 55% 3-pointers and 86% shooting).

For now, and still from the bench, the young back of the Warriors confirms this good run in the regular season, with 10.5 points, 3.0 rebounds and 3.0 steals over two games, 73% shooting and 57% 3-point shooting.

Full of confidence and liberated, Moses Moody regularly contributes good minutes and he has logically established himself as one of the main rotations of Golden State.

You can’t control the finality, you can’t control whether a shot goes in or not, but you can control whether you take a good or bad shot. », he indicates for the San Francisco Chronicle. “ I can control my pace so as long as it’s good, that’s all I can ask for. We need to stop thinking about what we can’t control and instead start thinking about what we can control. »

Beyond his good offensive contribution, Moses Moody also seduces defensively, to the delight of Steve Kerr.

He is so confident in his shooting, he makes smart decisions and does good things. », Judges the Warriors coach. “ I’m really proud of him, he’s had a great training camp, as has Jonathan Kuminga, and I feel like they’re both playing with a lot of confidence. »

Yet another paying bet from the Warriors?

Selected in 14th position in the 2021 Draft, Moses Moody appreciates even more having his chance within the team that drafted him two years ago and then put him in the incubator.

To be part of this team you have to do more, you don’t just have to be drafted », Estimates the 21-year-old player. “ But it takes time. There are some really smart players and coaches out there. They are very observant, you can’t fool anyone, and above all they believe in you. »

After having (generally) spent two years chomping at the bit at the end of the bench, Moses Moody seems ready for the explosion in Golden State. More mature in his game, he learned a lot from the veterans in the locker room and his professionalism is finally paying off.

It was really difficult, especially last season », recalls the person concerned. “ I don’t want to sound like I’ve arrived in the promised land, because there are going to be ups and downs, but I wouldn’t have it any other way. The more difficult the better, and that’s how you learn the most. As long as you learn these lessons, you can grow from there, or it can hurt you too. But if you grow from these lessons, you can remember how you felt when you were in that position [plus délicate] and, when you work hard for something, you appreciate it that much more. »
