More fear than harm for Scottie Barnes

The scene had an air of “déjà vu” this weekend, when Scottie Barnes had to leave his teammates prematurely, injured in the ankle. It must be said that this is the Achilles heel of the Raptors playmaker, with sprains during the playoffs of his rookie season and then twice at the start of last season, both ankles.

Toronto therefore held its breath when its number 4 left the field prematurely after a great performance (23 points on 10/14 shooting, 6 rebounds and 2 blocks in 25 minutes against the Wizards). The person concerned gave his news on Sunday, and more out of fear than harm…. Even if he was indeed in pain at the time.

“Scared” with every twist

“Everything is fine, the ankle just turned a little, but everything is back to normal,” did he first launched before returning to the pain felt. “It actually hurt a lot. Every time I get even a mini-twist of my ankle, I get really scared. I’ve had a few in the past, so I have to take precautions. That was the most important thing.”

A few days later, everything seems to be back to normal and there is a good chance that Scottie Barnes will be in uniform for the Raptors’ first regular season game.

Moreover, his coach Darko Rajakovic confirmed that he had participated in the entire training this Sunday. “I think my ankles are healing pretty quickly. I can get past this. I can bear the pain”assures Scottie Barnes, who we should therefore see in uniform for the reception of the Wolves of the Towns-Gobert tandem.
