More fear than harm for Jalen Duren

THE Pistonscurrently on a black streak of 18 consecutive defeats, would have done well without this announcement, but there is still reason to be relieved in Michigan regarding Jalen Duren.

Because The Athletic announced that the pivot holder of Detroit was only going to be absent for “only” two weeks, due to a sprained left ankle. No doubt a relief for the Pistons, since Jalen Duren looked in great pain Wednesday night, against the Grizzlies, after a really not reassuring twist of his left ankle. He left the field being helped by two members of the staff.

Saved until 2024?

If the diagnosis announced is two weeks, we can however wonder if the former player from the University of Memphis will play again in 2023. While the Pistons' season is already devoid of any interest in terms of ranking, perhaps in effect that the staff of the “Motor City” club will play the card of caution and recommend an additional week of rest, before returning to the pivot to start the new year.

In the absence of Jalen Duren, it is undoubtedly Isaiah Stewart, starting as a power forward, who will shift to the pivot position, while Marvin Bagley III should certainly start the matches on position 4.
