Montrezl Harrell undergoes knee surgery

Victim of tears in the anterior ligament of the right knee and a meniscus during summer training, Montrezl Harrell passed on the pool table and the Sixers report that the operation went well.

This is first good news, even if the pivot should not be able to play next season.

This double operation thus generally requires 9 to 12 months of recovery and we can think that the former Sixth man of the year (2020) will not be able to resume the thread of his career until 2023/24. A blow when his rating had already dropped a lot, and Doc Rivers hardly used him anymore at the end of the Philadelphia season.

Despite everything, and in particular the return of Paul Reed and the arrival of Mo Bamba behind Joel Embiid, he had returned to the Sixers. Before knowing this serious injury…

Philadelphia did not release him, however, and may be considering using his contract for a future trade. However, as Bobby Marks notes, the team will have to wait until December 15 before they can trade him.
