Miles Bridges: “I missed the fans, and they missed me”

583 days. This is the time that has passed between the last match of Miles Bridges, and its recovery last night against the Bucks. The Hornets winger, top scorer and rebounder on his team in 2022, missed 92 matches in a row for extremely serious extra-sporting reasons since he is accused of having hit the mother of his children, then having violated his judicial control.

Suspended 10 games for the NBA, and awaiting his retrial in February, Miles Bridges is now authorized to play, and on an individual level, he did not disappoint with 17 points, 5 rebounds, 4 assists and 2 interceptions coming off the bench. Insufficient to prevent his Hornets from suffering a big spanking (130-99) against the Bucks.

“I found it very good. He brought a lot of energy to the field. He scored. He got rebounds. He played really, really well.” Judge Steve Cliffordwho couldn’t wait for him to get back on the field.

No discomfort for the Charlotte public

For his part, Miles Bridges “didn’t know what to expect” from the public. When he entered the game, however, he had the response, with a rather warm welcome from his audience. “I missed the fans, and they missed me” he summarized. “I’m just happy to play.”

On Thursday, Miles Bridges recognized that his return to the field could cause “a certain discomfort” in some, and that he had to “regain their trust”. In Charlotte, the matter seems settled, given the reaction when he came into play, then after his first basket.

“I’m happy with the response I got from everyone in the stands, and that’s all that matters. I’m just here to play basketball. Like I said, I have to regain people’s trust. »
