Mike Brown and the Kings, it's stuck!

Like Tyronn Lue with the Clippers, Mike Brown would like to extend this summer with the Kings, and for his salary to be aligned with what is currently practiced. The Sacramento coach receives around five million dollars per season, that's half as much as Mike Budenholzer at the Suns or Monty Williams at the Pistons, and this extension would allow him to increase his salary.

Except that ESPN report that it's stuck! With one year of his guaranteed contract remaining, Mike Brown and his agent had started discussions for a contract extension, but there would be a “chasm” between the Kings' proposal and the demands of their coach. Result: negotiations are interrupted, and it is not certain that they will resume during the summer.

Nearly 61% career victories!

Especially since a few days ago, rumors spoke of a possible replacement for Mike Brown after this season without playoffs. “Coach Of The Year” in 2023, the former coach of the Cavaliers and Lakers had nevertheless relaunched a moribund franchise for a very, very long time behind the duo De'Aaron Fox – Domantas Sabonis, but this season he did not manage to take your training to the next level.

Third in the West in 2023, Sacramento finished in 9th place this season (with an almost identical record…), being knocked out by the Pelicans in the play-in. As a coach, Mike Brown has one of the best winning percentages in the NBA with 62% at the head of the Cavaliers, 59% at the Lakers and 57% at the Kings.

Former right-hand man of Steve Kerr at the Warriors, he is also one of the rare coaches to have won the Coach Of The Year trophy twice.
