We knew that Matisse Thybulle was targeted by the Mavericks, looking for defenders to complete their squad around Luka Doncic and Kyrie Irving. According to Chris Haynes, the former Sixers player, elected all the same twice in the All-Defensive Second Team (2021 and 2022) should thus sign the “offer sheet” of Dallas.
It’s that the fullback/winger is a protected free agent, and that the Blazers, his last team, will therefore have 24 hours, once he has signed with the Mavericks, to match the offer. Or not.
It remains to be seen what Dallas intends (and can) offer Matisse Thybulle to bring him in. Will the franchise offer its entire mid-level exception, which can be up to $53 million over four years with a first year at $12.4 million, to the Aussie to steal it from Blazers?
