Marvin Bagley III out at least six weeks

Health concerns do not spare Marvin Bagley IIIand this has been the case since the beginning of his career. Yahoo! sports reports today that the interior of the Pistons should be operated on for two fractures of the fingers at the level of the right hand, his weak hand.

As a result, the power winger, who was injured against the Blazers earlier this week, is expected to miss between six and eight weeks of competition. In the pessimistic scenario, he would not return until early March, for around fifteen games remaining to be played.

The 2nd choice of the 2018 Draft had already missed the first 13 meetings of the year due to a knee injury. He had started his season as a starter, first resuming the statistical pace that was his in Sacramento with 14 points and 7 rebounds on average.

Dwane Casey had ended up changing his tune by introducing rookie Jalen Duren in his five, alongside Isaiah Stewart. As a result, the production of the former Kings player had started to decline. With just under 11 points and 6 rebounds, he signed his lowest career averages so far. Before his injury, the left-hander had still released one of his best games with 18 points and 10 rebounds on the Wolves floor.

In the absence of Bagley, who extended his tenure at Michigan for three years and $37.5 million this summer, another high draft pick (6th in 2013), Nerlens Noel, could be tapped.

We will have to stagger (between Isaiah Stewart and Jalen Duren), but that brings Nerlens into play too. He must be ready, whether there are problems of fouls or otherwise, he must be ready to step in and help. We will have to stagger these two and find the combination between our two interiors in the two fives », announced Dwane Casey.
