Mark Jackson surprised by his departure from ESPN

As was anticipated a few days ago, Doris Burke and Doc Rivers will arrive on ESPN next season. This new duo will thus replace Mark Jackson and Jeff Van Gundy. If the second knew he had been away for a month, the first obviously did not see his departure coming.

“This morning, unexpectedly, I was informed that my services were no longer needed at ESPN”he wrote on his Twitter account on Monday. “While shocked and appalled by the suddenness of the situation, I would like to thank ESPN and all NBA team personnel for allowing me to be part of the organization for the past 15 years. »

The former player and coach also paid tribute to his colleagues then mentioned, in a few words but without naming them, his successors.

“I had the honor of sitting alongside two legends of this world of television, who are like brothers to me: Mike Breen and Jeff Van Gundy”, continues Mark Jackson. “Lisa Salters is a legend and like a sister to me. I am proud of the work she continues to do. I wish the new team at ESPN every success. May they continue to grow this sport that has given me a home and a life. »
