Mark Daigneault's declaration of love to his Thunder players

We wondered when the Thunder would finally be caught up by their inexperience. And it happened in this conference semi-final against Dallas, and in particular in this second half of Game 6.

Asked what he had learned about his team, Mark Daigneault reacted like a super teacher. Forgetting the original question, he first wanted to say how much he loved this group!

“We learned so much about our team. It sucks to lose this last game of the season. And for me personally, and I've said it all year, coaching this team has been a huge pleasure and it's really sad that it's ending. I love coaching this team. I would just like to see them at training tomorrow. »

The “Coach of the Year”, who led this team to the top of the Western Conference in the regular season, to everyone's surprise, then asks to be reminded of the basic question, explaining that he wanted to place this declaration of love to Shai Gilgeous-Alexander and company before everyone goes on vacation…

“It's painful at the moment but if we take a step back, we see progress since previous seasons, progress since the start of the season, progress since the start of the playoffs. We simply have more experience, more maturity, we are more connected, we are better, we are tougher, more intelligent. All. Throughout the season, we talked about learning from experience. I think we accomplished that to an exceptional degree, and we had a great season, even though we didn't win that series. »

See you next year for this group that will have to be counted on in the future.
