The countdown has already begun for the 2025 All-Star Game which will take place in less than a month. While votes to select players are open to the general public until this evening, a first coaching position was officially awarded this night, following OKC's 35th victory of the season, winner of Brooklyn (127 -101).
While waiting for Kenny Atkinson for the Eastern Conference, it is therefore Mark Daigneault which was logically designated for the Westwith the Thunder no longer able to be joined in first place before the February 2 deadline.
A first for the Thunder since 2014
As provided for in the new regulations, the coach will have to choose from one of his assistants to coach another of the four teams which will form this brand new All-Star Game (between Mike Wilks, Chip Engelland, Eric Maynor, David Akinyooye, Grant Gibbs and Dave Bliss). The same will apply to the coach selected for the Eastern Conference.
“It’s an honor. I want to say a big thank you to everyone behind the scenes at the franchise who works with the players, not just this season but in previous seasons as well. All this was the result of construction work and many people left their mark on it”, reacted the person concernedwho is now waiting to know how many of his players will be at his side for the all-star meeting.
