Malik Monk will extend to the Kings!

We didn't think we were leaving, ready to land a huge contract away from the Kings, but Malik Monk decided to extend his lease in Sacramento. Considered one of the best “sixth man” for two seasons, the former Hornets and Lakers back will commit, according to ESPN, for a four-year, $78 million contract. It was the most he could claim from the Kings, and it's quite a deal for Sacramento. The player will have the opportunity to test “free agency” at the end of the 3rd year.

Runner-up to Naz Reid for the Sixth Man Award, Monk was the Kings' summer priority, and after Mike Brown's extension, it's a new sign of stability. Hit in one knee, he missed the end of the regular season and the play-in. An absence too difficult to fill for the Kings, eliminated by the Pelicans.

At 26, Monk should again be 6th man next season, taking over from his friend De'Aaron Fox and Kevin Huerter. Unless Brown decides to change his plans, and start him to take advantage of a very offensive “back-court”.
