Malcolm Brogdon’s health set Clippers back

It was therefore Danilo Gallinari, Mike Muscala and especially Marcus Smart who left Boston to allow the Celtics to get their hands on Kristaps Porzingis. However, an early version of the trade would have sent the Latvian to Massachusetts in a triangle trade, with Brad Stevens only giving in to Malcolm Brogdon.

But according to Brian Windhorst, the Clippers would have retreated on discovering the state of health of the “combo guard”.

“Brogdon has a health problem”explains our colleague. “A health issue, from what I understand, that is so significant that not only can the Celtics not make this trade, they just can’t make a trade for Malcolm Brogdon in the short term” .

The former Bucks and Pacers player had finished the playoffs at the end of the bench, the fault of a partial tear of a tendon at the level of the right elbow which bothered him considerably.

Malcolm Brogdon, however, did not want to join the infirmary and he had aggravated his injury during a rebound fight against Kevin Love. Is it the same injury that derailed the triangle trade involving him, ultimately forcing the Celtics to let go of the soul of their team, Marcus Smart, to validate the arrival of Kristaps Porzingis?
