It was obvious that Anthony Edwards' recent comments about the lack of talent in the 80s and 90s would make some noise. A week ago, the Wolves All-Star guard reacted to the multiple statements from the “old guards” about the difference in level between the NBA of the 80s and 90s and the current one.
“They say it was harder in their day than it is now, but I don't think there was that much talent. Michael Jordan was the only one with the big skills, if you know what I mean. That's why they were impressed by Kobe Bryant. Because now, everybody's got talent.”
Asked about this statement, Magic Johnson was not kind to Edwards. “I never answer someone who has never won a title” said the former Lakers point guard. “There's not much to answer… He didn't win an NCAA title. I don't even know if he won a title in high school…”
But Edwards won the Olympic title two weeks ago…and Magic Johnson seems to forget that.
