Magic Johnson soon co-owner of the Washington Commanders in the NFL?

For the past few months, the Washington Commanders, formerly Redskins, have been for sale. At first, a participation of Kevin Durant was mentioned, the All-Star of the Suns being a big fan of the NFL franchise.

But finally, according to ESPN, it is Magic Johnson who will put balls in this takeover project. The former Lakers point guard has joined the group of investors led by Josh Harris, owner of the Philadelphia Sixers in the NBA and the New Jersey Devils in the NHL.

An association that is not new since Magic Johnson and Josh Harris had already worked together last summer, when the second had tried to buy the Denver Broncos.

In addition, Magic Johnson has often invested in franchises, whether in MBL with the Dodgers, which he has owned since 2012, or in the WNBA with the Los Angeles Sparks, or even in MLS, still in Los Angeles.

The value of the Washington Commanders is estimated at 5.5 billion dollars according to Forbes magazine and our colleagues from ESPN also announce that Tilman Fertitta, owner of the Houston Rockets, has, like Josh Harris, visited the facilities of the NFL franchise and would be interested in buying it.
