Just before the Western Conference Finals between the Nuggets and Lakers kicks off, the NBA organized on the side of Chicago its traditional lottery to determine the order of the Draft 2023. Finally, at the end of the suspense, it is the Spurs who won the (very) big prize, since they will probably be able to select Victor Wembanyama with their first choice!
This is incidentally only the third time in its history that San Antonio will be drafting number one and it was probably the best year to do so, given the player they can get.
Behind, we find the Hornets in second place and Blazers in third position, while the Rockets and the Pistons complete the Top 5. Among the big winners of the evening, we can obviously mention the Spurs thanks to the potential arrival of Victor Wembanyama, but also Charlotte and Portland who climb into the Top 3. Conversely, Houston and Detroit lost big, since they could initially dream of the “top pick”…
