Lonzo Ball between hopes and regrets

Invited by Trae Young in his podcast “From the Point by Trae Young”, Lonzo-Ball gave his news, and he unfortunately confirmed that he was preparing to experience a new white season. But he remains hopeful for a potential return for the start of the 2024 school year.

Abused by recurring knee problems, the Bulls point guard has not played an official match since January 2022. Since his last operation, a cartilage transplant in his left knee, last March, everything now seems to be taking its course and it is already a positive point to which the player can cling.

When I first got injured, we didn’t really know what it was.” did he declare. “I’ve seen a whole bunch of doctors and stuff. I had ups and downs. It was really difficult for me because I didn’t know what the next day would be like. At least now I’ve had surgery. We have a plan moving forward. We followed the plan. I’m on the right track. I hope everything will go well. I leave it up to God, I do my best and come what may”.

Eternal regrets…

Still, time passes and Lonzo Ball, recruited by the Bulls in 2021, still has only 35 games in the Chicago jersey. This long absence is so many regrets to imagine what his team could have accomplished if he had been there. It was the perfect environment for him, but unfortunately not everything went as planned…

“It will remain as a big “what if? », he added. “I feel bad just for the GMs of the Bulls because I feel like they’ve built the perfect team around me. I had never felt so involved in a franchise. I finally found the perfect team that I thought could fit my style of play, play my way and do whatever I wanted. I’m still going through this ordeal with this injury, but the worst thing is that I could never know what it would have been like when I felt like we had a chance.

While waiting for good news, Lonzo Ball will still have to be patient. He will then have one last year left, in “Player Option” at the end of the 2023-2024 season (at 21.3 million dollars).
