Lindy Waters III gives Warriors victory with buzzer beater

You could call it a good first impression. Recovered this summer by the Warriors, Lindy Waters III thus offered the victory to his new team with a “buzzer beater”, in preseason, against the Clippers!

In Honolulu, while the Clippers led by two points, the former Oklahoma City player took advantage of Steve Kerr's system to get an open 3-point shot, which he converted at the siren (91-90) . Even if the sporting stakes of a victory in pre-season are zero, it is a good introduction, and a real confidence boost for the back.

“What a great way to end a great week” could only appreciate Steve Kerr.

The coach obviously sang the praises of his new player, his team's top scorer with 15 points at 5/7 by far coming off the bench. A player who fits the Warriors game.

Already a fan when he was at the Thunder

“He’s a very good shooter, but he’s more than that” assured the technician. “He has size and he’s not just there waiting for shots. As you saw on his last shoot, he took advantage of a screen. So he's a good shooter on the move, and he also understands the game. We're really excited to have him with us. »

Steve Kerr adds that the Warriors appreciated what they saw each time they faced him with the Thunder, and that's why they made the trade to get him back.

Enough to end the evening with smiles on the Golden State side, while Stephen Curry was much less hot than during the Olympic final, and the major five (Stephen Curry, De'Anthony Melton, Jonathan Kuminga, Draymond Green, Trayce Jackson- Davis) generally had a lot of difficulty functioning together, not being able to find a collective rhythm against a Harden – Powell – Zubac trio already quite well in place on his side.
