For his first NBA campaign, Jalen Green wore number #0. The rear was then changed to #4 following the departure of Danuel House Jr, who used his lucky number when he arrived in Texas.
Now it’s Jabari Smith Jr.’s turn to imitate his little comrade, changing his number.
According to the Houston Chronicle, the 3rd choice of the 2022 Draft will thus abandon #1 to take over #10, his favorite number which he approached in Auburn, in the NCAA. The strong winger couldn’t use it this season because Eric Gordon was already wearing it, but the veteran transfer to the Clippers during the campaign now offers it to him.
Jabari Smith Jr. also wanted to change number as soon as the transfer fromEric Gordon at the “trade deadline” but changes during the season are not allowed by the NBA for a player who does not change club.
For the young interior of (soon) 20 years, this change must now accompany his progress, after a particularly frustrating first season in the doldrums of the Rockets. With the arrival of Ime Udoka on the bench to try to restore order among the young Rockets, and make him pass a course as quickly as possible.
