This is very bad news for the club, just a few days before its appeal hearing before the DNCG.
Because while the Girondins de Bordeaux have been relegated to the National League, Gérard Lopez must now find another buyer urgently, or inject 40 million euros himself…

This decision can be explained in particular by the significant cost of the stadium in the years to come, but also by the general economic context of French football. FC Girondins de Bordeaux and Gérard Lopez thank Fenway Sports Group for the interest shown in the club as well as its teams for having travelled to meet its stakeholders.
