Three more weeks to wait, and we will discover for the first time in history, a father and his son under the same colors in the NBA. It will be on the Los Angeles side with LeBron James and his son Bronny, and this prospect really excites the 2024 Olympic champion.
“I’m so happy… I can’t wait for training camp. Having your son working with you is the best thing ever.” he explains during this new episode of “The Shop”. “I’m looking forward to that moment. I’m really looking forward to being on the field for him. It’s going to be pretty surreal for me. It might be the first time in my entire career that I get to step back and be like, ‘Oh, this is really cool.’”
The possibility, finally, to take a step back
LeBron assures us that he has never been so relaxed! It's as if winning a 5th title was taking a back seat. “Maybe because I’ve been trying to climb this mountain, I’ve never been able to step back for myself. I’ve been so in the thick of it throughout my career that I pray and hope that being with my son will finally give me the opportunity to step back and look at things from a different perspective and appreciate them.”
But be careful, one imperative: Bronny doesn't call him dad! “No, he can’t call me Dad! We’ve already established that. He can’t call me Dad at work. Once we leave the training ground and the doors close, I could be his dad again in the car if we’re driving together. He can’t say on the field, ‘Dad, speed up!’ or ‘Dad, I’m cleared!’”
