Leader of the Year 2023 | Monte McNair (Kings) takes the lead

After Mike Brown and De’Aaron Fox, respectively named “Coach of the year” and “Clutch Player of the year”, he is another member of the Kings which has just been rewarded with a trophy: Monte McNairtheir General Manager, elected “ Executive of the year 2023. This former Rockets leader is ahead of Kobe Altman (Cavaliers) and Justin Zanik (Jazz) in the votes.

Successor to Zach Kleiman, GM of the Grizzlies crowned in 2022, the leader of Sacramento was expected at such a party, since his job at the head of the Californian franchise has quite simply made it possible to revive an organization that has been in disrepair for fifteen years.

The recruitments of Domantas Sabonis, Mike Brown and Malik Monk

Certainly eliminated, weapons in hand, by the reigning champions Golden State in the first round (3-4), the Kings will have had the happiness of returning to the playoffs, no less than… 17 years after their last qualification!

A success to be credited in particular to Monte McNair, who hired Mike Brown, drafted Keegan Murray, then recovered Kevin Huerter and Malik Monk, after having already brought Domantas Sabonis back the previous season.

Extended in January by his superiors, the work of the now reigning Manager of the Year is not yet finished, because he will now have to make sure to install Sacramento (3rd this season, 48-34) among the places strengths of the Western conference.
