Las Vegas Aces follow up with hold-up against Connecticut Sun

And four for Las Vegas! A'ja Wilson and her teammates thus won (72-67) at the Connecticut Sun, after having been behind for almost the entire match, and notably by 15 points in the second quarter…

Limited to 9 points in the second quarter, the double defending champions thus suffered for a long time the impact of Brionna Jonesbefore the trio of A'ja Wilson – Kesley Plum – Chelsea Gray revived Las Vegas after the break. However, it was not enough to take control of the match, with the Sun remaining in the lead.

It was only in the last two minutes that A'ja Wilson finally managed to put her team in front, first on free throws and then on a shot from the top of the key!

Chelsea Gray scored the 3-pointer and Las Vegas continued its streak, consolidating its fourth place in the standings (22 wins – 12 losses) while the Connecticut Sun (24 wins – 10 losses), author of a thunderous start to the season, slipped to third place after this second consecutive defeat.

A'ja Wilson closes in on single-season points record

“It didn't start well at all” Kelsey Plum admittedwho compiled 27 points. “But this year, not a lot of things have gone our way, so it's cool that it ended like this, especially at the end of the game. It's really tough… People don't understand how tough it is, so I'm mostly proud that we're still fighting.”

Especially with a Jackie Young (2 points at 1/6 shooting) out of sorts during this game. But opposite, Alyssa Thomas was not having a great night either, certainly still with her general activity (7 points, 10 rebounds, 8 assists) but also 8 of her team's 18 turnovers.

With her 20 points scored in Connecticut, A'ja Wilson now has 929 points this season, just 10 points behind the record set by Jewell Loyd (939 points) last season with the Seattle Storm.
