The François Mitterrand room in Mont-de-Marsan was packed for this round of 16 of the Landes Cup between the Real Chalossaistitle holder, and Biscarrosseled by Boris Diaw and his friends.
The Chalois kop, hot and vocal, hoped to see their players put an end to the “media circus” caused by the participation of the former captain of the Blues in the Coupe des Landes.
Except that their players started 42 points behind, due to the division gap: Biscarrosse Olympique is in fact playing in Departmental 3, and Real Chalossais in Nationale 3. A gap which proved impossible to overcome.
Real Chalossais nevertheless believed in it, especially when Boris Diaw was hampered by the mistakes. But the lack of skill was fatal to the title holders. At the end of the match, the gap is still 21 points (103-82) and it is therefore Boris Diaw and Biscarrosse, in better shape than announced, who reach the quarter-final of the Coupe des Landes, between whistles from opposing supporters and applause from their own fans.
