LaMelo Ball targets next training camp

On February 28 against the Pistons, LaMelo Ball collapsed alone on the floor, taking with him the little hope he had left in the Hornets camp for the end of the season. Operated on a fractured right ankle in stride, the leader symbolized the bad luck that continues to stick to these Hornets, who will therefore miss the playoffs for the 7th season in a row, between injuries, including Gordon Hayward, and the Miles Bridges case which also dampened the ambient enthusiasm even before the start of the regular season.

For the first since his withdrawal from the courts, LaMelo Ball spoke to the media, assuring that his goal was to be ready for the start of “training camp” next September.

“We failed to qualify for the playoffs so whether I played 36, 25 or 50 matches, it doesn’t really matter. As we failed to qualify, we now have to prepare for the next season,” he thus confided.

Fragile ankles, the height for an “ankle breaker”

Not yet very comfortable in the media exercise, the leader did not give more information. Three weeks after his operation, he did not know when he thought he could walk again without crutches or resume running. Same thing when asked if he saw himself wearing ankle braces on his return to reinforce his support. The fact that he wears “low” shoes without ankle pads could explain the repeated injuries.

“I haven’t looked into it yet. First I have to see how I feel when I return. Then I will make a decision”.

While his big brother Lonzo Ball also has to deal with repeated knee injuries, LaMelo Ball for his part sprained his left ankle three times before his right ankle broke.

” It’s difficult. I mean, it’s really painful to have to go through this, but I’m still alive and stuff, so we can’t be too upset. Just go through rehab, do this whole process and try to get out of it as best you can”he simply concluded.
