Lakers won’t let Jarred Vanderbilt go

The Lakers have no intention of letting their precious “role players” slip away this time. While Californians are watching the Austin Reaves case very closely, they should, according to ESPNguarantee the salary of Jarred Vanderbilt for next season, for an amount of 4.7 million dollars.

The American media specifies that the 24-year-old player will be eligible for a contract extension for a period of four years and 71 million dollars from September 7. This first decision seems logical for the former Wolves player, who has integrated perfectly into the formation of Los Angeles.

Arrived from Jazz with Malik Beasley last February, as part of the massive transfer around Russell Westbrook, the strong winger was quick to find his place in Darvin Ham’s five, alongside Anthony Davis. His rebounding qualities and his activity in defense made him an important cog in Los Angeles.

Due to his limits in attack, with in particular a lack of outside shooting, he saw his playing time drop at the end of his team’s playoff run. Against the Nuggets, for example, he only scored two baskets in the game in all, in three appearances of about ten minutes each time.
