Lakers draft Quinndary Weatherspoon

Author of an attractive mini-tour as a freelancer for Maccabi Ra’anana on American soil despite a difficult context, the back Quinndary Weatherspoon caught the eye of the Lakers. According to Chris Haynes, Quinndary Weatherspoon landed an invitation for the end of the preseason. More precisely, he will strengthen the G-League team, and as his rights belonged to the Santa Cruz Warriors, the Lakers let go of two 2024 Draft picks in the G-League.

The Californians did not meet him during prep but they still know the player, who played for the Spurs, the Warriors and their respective G-League teams. In his two games against Brooklyn and Cleveland, he did well by averaging 15.5 points and 4.5 assists over two games. Enough to convince the Lakers clan to give him a chance.

Will he be the Lakers’ 15th and final guaranteed contract? This remains complicated because the managers undoubtedly prefer to keep a free place, depending on the start of the season and needs. Will he have a “two-way contract”? Further complicated since the Lakers have already reserved them for Colin Castelton, Alex Fudge, and D’Moi Hodge.
