Lakers and Spurs on the trail of Christian Koloko

According to Shams Charaniathe Lakers are in pole position to sign Christian Kolokothe former Raptors center. According to our colleague, the Cameroonian is also of interest to the Clippers, the Spurs and his former team, the Raptors.

While he has yet to make a decision, and still has to pass the usual NBA physicals, the good news is that Christian Koloko is set to resume his career after missing the entire 2023/24 season due to a blood clot issue.

According to Sportsnet, the former Toronto player was given the green light by doctors to return to action in July, and his agent, Calvin Andrews, said his blood clot problem had been resolved with surgery.

To fill the absence of Christian Wood?

During the Las Vegas Summer League, Koloko's camp hosted a workout for NBA scouts, and in August, his personal trainer Chris Johnson shared a video on YouTube showing Christian Koloko with Kentavious Caldwell-Pope, Jalen Johnson, Jordan Clarkson, Delon Wright and other NBA players.

If the Lakers are most interested in his profile, it is undoubtedly because they need to find an interior for the recovery since Christian Wood has just had knee surgery, and he will be absent for the “training camp” and the first three weeks of the regular season.

Since the Lakers already have 15 players under contract, Christian Koloko could accept a “two-way contract.” Which would mean that the Lakers would be forced to part ways with Armel Traore, Blake Hinson or Colin Castleton.
