Knicks-Wolves trade ultimately involves 8 players

For technical, and especially financial, reasons, the exchange between the Knicks and the Wolves takes time, and the leaders of the two teams, thanks again to the Hornets, have finally managed to find an agreement. Last night, a priori, they completed the transaction and it involves eight players and four Draft choices.

So, the Knicks send Julius Randle, Donte DiVincenzo and Keita Bates-Diop to the Wolves, but also DaQuan Jeffries, Charlie Brown and Duane Washington Jr. to the Hornets. Remember that the latter is playing at Partizan Belgrade this season, and that the Knicks bought his contract from the Serbian club, for $850,000, to include him in the exchange.

New York trades six players

Wolves send Karl-Anthony Towns in New York. An 8th player is included in the exchange, and The Athletic announces that it is James Nnaji, 31st choice in the Draft. Currently in Spain, his rights are now in the possession of the Knicks.

In terms of Draft choices, the Knicks are giving up a protected first round of the 2025 Draft to the Wolves, and two second rounds of Draft to the Hornets. The Wolves also send a second round of Draft to the Hornets.
